LONDON TO MONACO
October 2, 2019
Steve Roberts joined Winch Design in the London to Monaco cycling race.
Our very own Steve Roberts joined Winch Design to take part in the London to Monaco cycling race this September, raising money for the Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE). BLUE is working to solve the crisis of overfishing by creating marine reserves –parts of the ocean that are protected so that fish and biodiversity can recover.
The funds raised will contribute to funding three prestigious projects to protect the marine area around St Helena, Ascension Island and Lyme bay/Aeolian island in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Winch Design team, with who we recently collaborated on our Labyrinth collection, joined forces to take on the 8-day cycling challenge. Andrew Winch valiantly rode the full 8 days across the Bay of Biscay, soaked up the Spanish Basque country, conquered the Pyrenees, enjoyed Provence and experienced riding sections of Europe’s Grand Tours and was joined by Stephen Roberts on the last day.
They arrived in Monaco on the 24th of September around 14.30 in the afternoon and were welcomed in by cheering crowds and champagne. Exhausted but overwhelmed by the news that the event had raised a staggering £517,000!
It’s not too late to donate…

This certainly kicked started Monaco Yacht Show on a high and followed by a successful drinks event at our stand on Friday the 27th of September. Andrew Winch joined our team to discuss the Labyrinth collection.
