Beautiful Georgian country home renovation featuring luxury boot room extension.
We spoke to Catherine Devine from Maple and Gray about their recent project ‘Fairfield – Boot Room’ in Ascot, Berskhire. Known as the ‘bootility’, this large space for a boot room and utility area shows off stunning green cabinetry, infused with a large oak island and black granite worktops.
THE BRIEF
“Our client was carrying out an extensive renovation project converting an Arts & Crafts style house into a more Georgian country home in Ascot, Berks. Although they did extend part of the house, it was largely an internal re-configuration and a huge amount of time was spent incorporation sympathetic details into the new interior décor.
Wanting to use quality materials and classic colour schemes, it was integral that key details to be unique and stylish and not ones you see time and time again in brochure and magazine.”
“Luckily, we had a healthy budget to work with which made it possible to look at more designer and exclusive finishes. With help from the interior designers, we were able to bring a whole scheme together for the boot room.
This project was a hugely practical space that needed plenty of storage, an area for coat / boot storage, laundry, dog washing and a sink. As well as the practical elements, the overall look and feel needed to be elegant and in keeping with the rest of the high-quality finishes in the house.”
